This Gregorian house from the 18th century stands out among the modern businesses and eateries that line downtown Main Street.
The stone house is encircled by a patch of grass and bordered by a white picket fence.
In 1982, it became part of the list of National Historic Landmarks.
The first governor of New York State, George Clinton, inspired the construction of the Clinton House in 1765.
After a fire destroyed it in 1783, troops repaired and enlarged it.
