Aggie Triumphs in The Voice Finale: A Deep Dive into Aiden Ross’s Unstoppable Rise
Few Aggies can claim they dazzled a judging panel featuring stalwarts like Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire. Yet sophomore Aiden Ross did just that, captivating not only the mentors but the entire country and clinching the top prize in a nail-biting final round of the beloved musical competition The Voice.
After weeks of fierce competition and a string of standout performances, Ross’s dedication and talent culminated in victory in the finale, where he vied against five other gifted finalists for the crown.
This season, Ross was mentored by Niall Horan, who selected him to represent Team Horan in the tense climactic round. Ross praised Horan as an extraordinary mentor throughout the journey.
“I share a strong connection with him. He’s been an outstanding guide as I’ve progressed. He also embodies the kind of music I aspire to create someday,” Ross explained. “I’m not a full-time student right now, but I’m still taking classes, so balancing schoolwork with my music endeavors has been both enjoyable and challenging.”
Ross is pursuing a degree in industrial distribution at Texas A&M. He openly admitted he once avoided music as a career path or degree, fearing there wouldn’t be a viable space for him. That doubt gave way to a different confidence after auditioning for The Voice.
“I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel,” Ross confessed. “I didn’t think there was a place for me. But once The Voice began, I started to glimpse that light. As I’ve progressed, that light has only grown brighter.”
Even though he didn’t major in music, he found avenues to express his passion while at Texas A&M.
“I realized I belonged at Aggieland when I joined the a cappella group HardChord DynaMix. I joined late, and the group was already well-established, but I was welcomed with open arms from day one.
That welcoming spirit reflects what makes this university special—no matter how big the school, there’s room for everyone who is willing to search for it.”
September saw the release of his debut single, “Everything and More,” which has drawn close to 150,000 streams. Ross notes that winning The Voice has fortified his confidence to chase his dreams with renewed vigor.
“I’m ready to give music my everything,” he stated, signaling a clear commitment to pursuing his musical ambitions with focus and passion.
